3M Adaptic Non-Adhering Dressing is a primary wound contact layer designed to protect regenerating tissue while allowing exudate to pass freely to a suitable secondary dressing. It is constructed from a knitted cellulose acetate mesh impregnated with a specially formulated, non-silicone petrolatum emulsion. The mesh pore size is engineered to facilitate exudate transfer and help minimize pooling at the wound site. The dressing is conformable, can be cut to size, and may be used under compression.

### Indications
Use as a primary wound contact layer for dry to highly exuding wounds where preventing adherence is desired, including:
- First- and second-degree burns
- Lacerations and abrasions
- Skin graft donor and recipient sites
- Venous leg ulcers
- Pressure injuries
### Application guidance
- Select a dressing size larger than the wound; may be cut to size with sterile scissors.
- Prepare the wound per protocol and ensure surrounding skin is dry.
- Place directly over the wound and smooth in place. If multiple pieces are needed, overlap minimally to avoid occluding the mesh openings.
- Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing based on the level of exudate; apply retention and/or compression as indicated.
- Change according to wound condition and exudate levels; the contact layer may remain in place for several days. In some cases, only the secondary dressing requires changing.
