Description
The AMT MiniONE® Balloon Button is a low-profile balloon-retained gastrostomy device designed to deliver enteral nutrition directly into the stomach through the abdominal wall. It is intended for both pediatric and adult use and provides a discreet external profile that sits close to the skin.
Key Features
The device includes a flush external bolster with a tapered transition from the shaft to the bolster to support a closer fit at the stoma site. Its internal apple-shaped retention balloon is designed to improve the gastric seal and help reduce leakage. The soft, flexible construction is intended to support comfort during daily wear and simplify cleaning.
An angled balloon fill port is incorporated to help reduce skin irritation. The button also includes an anti-reflux valve to help prevent backflow, and the Glow Green™ feeding port/feed-set connector is designed to make nighttime access easier.
Sizing and Balloon Fill Information
The MiniONE® Balloon Button is available in 12F, 14F, 16F, 18F, 20F, and 24F sizes. Stoma lengths vary by size, with reported product listings covering a range from 0.8 cm to 10.0 cm. Proper sizing should be determined by stoma measurement using the AMT Balloon Stoma Measuring Device.
Recommended balloon water fill volumes are printed on the fill valve for reference. Reported fill guidance is as follows:
- 12F: minimum 2 mL, recommended 2.5 mL, maximum 3 mL
- 14F: minimum 3 mL, recommended 4 mL, maximum 5 mL
- 16F: minimum 4 mL, recommended 6 mL, maximum 8 mL
- 18F: minimum 6 mL, recommended 8 mL, maximum 10 mL
- 20F: minimum 7 mL, recommended 10 mL, maximum 15 mL
- 24F: minimum 7 mL, recommended 10 mL, maximum 15 mL
Compatibility Notes
The balloon inflates and deflates for placement and removal. AMT extension and gastric sets are available in Legacy, ENFit®, and Hybrid configurations, with straight and right-angle feed, medication, and Y-port options in 2-inch, 12-inch, and 24-inch lengths. AMT recommends using AMT extension sets with this device. Reported syringe compatibility for the fill valve is Luer slip-tip and Luer Lock syringes for 12F to 14F sizes, and slip-tip syringes for 16F to 24F sizes.
