Description
The Bivona FlexTend TTS cuffed tracheostomy tube, size 3.5, is a silicone tracheostomy tube designed for neonatal and pediatric airway management where intermittent or temporary cuff use is required. This product family is used to help maintain airway patency and support mechanical ventilation. When clinically appropriate, the deflated cuff design may also assist with lung expansion therapy, weaning, and phonation.
Key design features
This tube is made from soft, flexible, biocompatible, radiopaque silicone. The TTS, or Tight-to-Shaft, cuff is designed to create a tracheal seal when inflated, directing airflow through the lumen and potentially helping reduce aspiration risk. When deflated, the cuff lies close to the shaft to minimize added profile and help reduce tracheal trauma.
The FlexTend configuration includes an extended flexible proximal shaft that helps keep connectors away from the neck, chin, and stoma. Wire reinforcement is incorporated to improve kink resistance, and the beveled tip is shaped to support lower-trauma placement. A SuperSlick coating is included to assist with insertion, removal, cleaning, and reinsertion.
