Description

Nutricia Fortini Multi Fibre Unflavoured is a ready-to-drink oral nutritional supplement designed for children with increased nutritional needs. It is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for the dietary management of disease-related malnutrition and growth failure in children, and it must be used under medical supervision.

This unflavoured formulation is suitable for children from 1 year of age who weigh more than 8 kg. It can be used as a supplement when normal food intake is not enough and, under medical supervision, may also be used as a sole source of nutrition for children aged 1 to 6 years or weighing 8 to 20 kg.

Nutritional profile

Each 200 ml bottle provides approximately 1.5 kcal/ml, with 6.8 g of protein and 3 g of fibre. Per 100 ml, it contains around 153 kcal, 6.8 g fat, 18.8 g carbohydrate, 3.4 g protein, 1.5 g fibre, and 0.17 g salt. The formulation is fortified with vitamins, minerals and trace elements, carotenoids, choline, taurine, and carnitine to support nutritionally complete intake.

Fibre blend and formulation

Fortini Multi Fibre contains the MF6 fibre blend, combining six soluble and insoluble fibres in an approximate 60:40 ratio. These include inulin, fructo-oligosaccharides, soy polysaccharides, resistant starch, arabic gum, and cellulose. It contains milk and soy, and is described as lactose-free and gluten-free.

Use and handling

Shake well before opening and serve chilled if preferred. The unflavoured version can also be added to foods and recipes, including use as a milk substitute on breakfast cereals or in savoury dishes. It may be gently warmed or frozen, but should not be boiled.

Important information

Not suitable for children under 1 year of age, for individuals with galactosaemia, or for intravenous use. Store in a cool, dry place between 5°C and 25°C. Once opened, use within 4 hours, or refrigerate and use within 24 hours.
