Description
The Drive DeVilbiss iGo2 Portable Oxygen Concentrator is a prescription-only, pulse-dose oxygen device designed for body-worn and transit-operable use. It delivers physician-prescribed supplemental oxygen through a standard nasal cannula for spontaneously breathing adult and pediatric patients weighing more than 10 kg. This model is not intended for continuous-flow therapy, life-support use, newborns or infants, tracheotomized patients, or use with masks, humidifiers, pediatric low-flow cannulas, or other oxygen therapy devices.
Oxygen delivery and performance
The iGo2 provides PulseDose oxygen boluses at the start of inhalation, with standard settings from 1 to 5. It also includes SmartDose auto-adjust modes from 1d to 4d, which are designed to respond to changing breathing patterns. AutoBreath backup provides pulse delivery if no breath is detected. The unit produces oxygen at 90% concentration (+4/-3%) across the operating range, with a listed maximum oxygen production of 1100 mL and support for breathing rates up to 40 breaths per minute. Its settings are not continuous-flow equivalents.
Monitoring and alerts
A sensitive breath trigger helps detect inhalation efficiently, while the easy-to-read LCD supports day-to-day operation. Oxygen purity monitoring includes a normal indicator at 86% or higher, a low oxygen indication below 86%, and an audible alert below 85%. Visual and audible alerts are provided for low battery, low oxygen concentration, breath-detection failure, and other malfunctions.
Power, portability, and travel
The unit can operate using the rechargeable battery, AC power, or DC vehicle power, with a battery required to remain installed during AC or DC operation. Approximate battery runtime is 3.5 hours at setting 2 and 20 breaths per minute with a new, fully charged battery, and typical recharge time is under 5 hours. The concentrator measures 8.4 x 3.5 x 8.6 inches and weighs about 4.95 lb with the battery installed. It operates at a typical sound level of 37.5 dBA at setting 2 and features a rugged overmolded housing with a carrying case or bag. The iGo2 is approved for commercial aircraft use and meets FAA/RTCA DO-160G criteria.
Operating and safety information
The iGo2 is rated for operation from 5 to 35 C, 15% to 93% relative humidity non-condensing, and altitudes up to 10,000 feet. It is classified as Class II, Type BF, and IP22. The device is MR unsafe and is not made with natural rubber latex. For proper use, it should only be used with a standard nasal cannula and up to 25 feet of crush-proof tubing. Bluetooth and app-based monitoring are available only on certain versions.
