Description
Nutrini Low Energy Multi Fibre is a ready-to-use, nutritionally complete enteral tube feed designed for the dietary management of disease-related malnutrition in children with low energy requirements. It is intended for children aged 1 to 6 years, or those weighing 8 to 20 kg, and should be used under medical supervision. This formulation may be used as a sole source of nutrition when clinically appropriate.
Nutritional profile
This feed provides 0.76 kcal per ml, making it suitable where reduced energy density is required. Per 100 ml, it delivers 76 kcal, 2.0 g protein, 9.3 g carbohydrate, 3.3 g fat, and 0.7 g fibre, with lactose content below 0.025 g. Each 500 ml bottle provides 380 kcal, 10 g protein, 46.5 g carbohydrate, 16.5 g fat, and 3.5 g fibre. The osmolality is 210 mOsmol/kg H2O.
Formulation features
The protein source is whey-dominant. It contains the MF6 soluble and insoluble multi-fibre blend, including soy polysaccharide, cellulose, resistant starch, gum arabic, oligofructose, and inulin. The fat blend includes DHA-dominant long-chain fatty acids, and the formula also contains added carotenoids.
Important considerations
Contains milk, soy, and fish. It is not suitable for patients with galactosaemia, infants under 1 year, or children who require a fibre-free diet. It is not for parenteral use. Use with caution in children aged 7 years and over, and in children with seafood allergy.
Use and storage
Use at room temperature and shake well before opening. Handle aseptically. Do not dilute or add medications directly to the feed. The maximum hanging time is 24 hours. Once opened, refrigerate unused contents and discard after 24 hours. Store unopened bottles in a cool, dry place.
Supplied in 500 ml OpTri bottles, packed 12 bottles per carton.
