Description
Nutrini Multi Fibre 500ml is a Food for Special Medical Purposes from Nutricia, designed for the dietary management of disease-related malnutrition in children aged 1 to 6 years or weighing 8 to 20 kg. It is a nutritionally complete 1 kcal/ml tube feed with fibre, intended for enteral use only and to be used under medical supervision. This formula may be used as a sole source of nutrition when clinically appropriate.
Nutritional profile
Per 100 ml, this feed provides 101 kcal (425 kJ), 2.7 g protein, 12.3 g carbohydrate, 4.4 g fat, and 0.8 g fibre. It also contains DHA at 35.7 mg and EPA at 8.41 mg per 100 ml. Sugars are low at 0.8 g per 100 ml, and lactose is present at less than 0.025 g per 100 ml.
Fibre blend and ingredients
The Multi Fibre blend provides 0.8 g/100 ml, with an even split of 50% soluble and 50% insoluble fibre. Ingredients include water, maltodextrin, rapeseed and sunflower oils, whey protein concentrate, sodium caseinate, and a fibre blend of soy polysaccharides, resistant starch, inulin, arabic gum, cellulose, and oligofructose. The formula also includes soy lecithin, fish oil, and added vitamins and minerals.
Technical and handling information
Presented in a 500 ml OpTri collapsible bottle, the feed can connect directly to a compatible pack giving set for tube feeding. Shake well before use and administer at room temperature. Hanging time is up to 24 hours in a closed system or 8 hours in an open system.
Technical values per 100 ml include osmolarity 260 mOsmol/l, osmolality 310 mOsmol/kg H2O, potential renal solute load 251 mOsmol/l, and pH 6.6.
Storage, suitability, and precautions
Store unopened in a cool, dry place at 5 to 25°C away from direct sunlight. Once opened, refrigerate below 5°C and use within 24 hours. Shelf life is 12 months.
Contains milk, soy, and fish. It is not suitable for infants under 1 year, patients with galactosaemia, or those requiring a fibre-free diet. Children at the lower end of the age or weight range who are prescribed only small volumes may require additional vitamin and trace element supplementation. This product is Halal and Kosher.
