Description

Nutrini Peptisorb Energy 500ml is a brand-specific paediatric enteral tube feed formulated for children from 1 year onward, typically within an approximate weight range of 8-45 kg. It is a ready-to-use, semi-elemental, peptide-based formula designed for the dietary management of disease-related malnutrition associated with severe malabsorption and/or maldigestion. Under medical supervision, it may be used as a sole source of nutrition.

This high-energy formulation provides approximately 1.5 kcal/ml, delivering about 760 kcal per 500 ml bottle. Each 500 ml also supplies around 21 g of protein, 94 g of carbohydrate, 33.5 g of fat, and less than 2.5 g of fibre.

Key nutritional features

Nutrini Peptisorb Energy contains 100% extensively hydrolysed whey protein, which provides peptides in a form intended for easier digestion and absorption. Around 51% of its fat content is derived from medium chain triglycerides (MCT), supporting patients with impaired fat digestion or absorption.

It also includes fibre, including prebiotic fibre from inulin and oligofructose, along with DHA and EPA from fish oil. The formula is low in lactose and has an osmolality of approximately 510 mOsm/kg H2O.

Ingredients and allergens

Key ingredients include water, maltodextrin, whey protein hydrolysate from milk, MCT, soybean and maize oils, maize starch, inulin and oligofructose fibre, fish oil, vitamins, and minerals.

This product contains milk, soy, and fish. Caution is advised in patients with seafood allergy.

Important use information

This feed is not suitable for infants under 1 year, patients with galactosaemia, those requiring a fibre-free diet, or for parenteral/intravenous use. Use at room temperature and shake well before administration. Handle aseptically, do not dilute, and do not add medications. After opening, the maximum hang time is 24 hours. Refrigerate any opened bottle and discard unused contents after 24 hours.
