Description

Nutrison Energy Multi Fibre 500ml is a ready-to-use enteral tube feed formulated for the dietary management of disease-related malnutrition in people with increased energy requirements. Presented in a 500 ml Optri bottle, it is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for enteral use only and must be used under medical supervision.

With an energy density of 1.5 kcal/ml, each 500 ml bottle provides 765 kcal. The feed is nutritionally complete at 1500 kcal, meaning it can be used as a sole source of nutrition when clinically appropriate. Each bottle supplies 30 g of protein, 92 g of carbohydrate, 29 g of fat, and 7.5 g of fibre.

Composition and nutritional features

This formulation contains water, maltodextrin, glucose syrup, vegetable oils, milk proteins, pea protein, soy protein, a fibre blend including inulin and oligofructose, fish oil, plus added vitamins and minerals. The combination of energy, protein, fibre, and micronutrients supports patients who require complete tube feeding with fibre included.

Common clinical uses

Nutrison Energy Multi Fibre may be used in the nutritional management of conditions such as short bowel syndrome, intractable malabsorption, inflammatory bowel disease, dysphagia, bowel fistulae, total gastrectomy, pre-operative preparation of undernourished patients, and other forms of disease-related malnutrition.

Important precautions

Contains milk, soy, and fish. It is not suitable for patients with galactosaemia or for those who require a fibre-free diet. It is also not suitable for infants. Paediatric use requires caution and monitoring by a healthcare professional.

Directions and storage

Shake well before opening and use at room temperature. The bottle is compatible with direct connection to a Flocare giving set. Store unopened at 5–25°C away from direct sunlight. Once opened, refrigerate and use within 24 hours. Unopened shelf life is 12 months. This product is suitable for Halal and Kosher dietary requirements.
