Description
Nutrison Multi Fibre 1000 ml OpTri is a ready-to-use enteral tube feed developed for the dietary management of disease-related malnutrition under medical supervision. Intended for adults and for enteral use only, it is suitable as a sole source of nutrition and is described as nutritionally complete at 1500 kcal per day. This formula provides approximately 1 kcal per ml and is supplied in a 1000 ml OpTri collapsible bottle designed for tube feeding, including direct connection to a Flocare giving set.
Nutritional profile
Each 1000 ml provides 1030 kcal, 40 g protein, 123 g carbohydrate, 39 g fat, and 15 g fibre. The fibre content includes 12 g soluble fibre and 3 g insoluble fibre. Reported sugars are 8.8 g per 1000 ml.
Selected electrolytes and minerals per 1000 ml include sodium 900 mg, potassium 1500 mg, calcium 800 mg, phosphorus 600 mg, magnesium 208 mg, iron 15.9 mg, and zinc 10 mg. Technical characteristics include osmolarity 270 mOsmol/L, osmolality 330 mOsmol/kg H2O, and pH 7.3.
Composition and allergens
The formulation contains water, maltodextrin, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, soy protein, pea protein isolate, and milk proteins including sodium caseinate and whey. It also includes a mixed fibre blend of inulin, oligofructose, arabic gum, soy fibre, cellulose, and resistant starch, with fish oil and added vitamins and minerals.

Indications and precautions
Listed indications include disease-related malnutrition, short bowel syndrome, intractable malabsorption, pre-operative preparation of undernourished patients, inflammatory bowel disease, total gastrectomy, dysphagia, and bowel fistulae.
It is not suitable for patients with galactosaemia, for children under 3 years, or where a fibre-free feed is required. Use in older children should occur only with healthcare professional monitoring.
Handling and storage
Shake well before use and check the appearance before administration. Administer at room temperature. Do not dilute or add medications. Maximum hanging time is up to 24 hours in a closed system or up to 8 hours in an open system.
Store unopened in a cool, dry place at 5–25°C away from direct sunlight. Once opened, close, refrigerate, and use within 24 hours. Shelf life is 12 months. This product is halal and kosher.
