Description
The Portex BLUselect uncuffed fenestrated tracheostomy tube kit is designed for inpatient and outpatient use, combining identification features with a tube shape intended to support placement, comfort, and routine handling. This version is supplied as a kit and is described with a disconnection wedge.
The tube is made from a thermosensitive material that is firmer during insertion and then conforms more readily at body temperature. A smooth arc-shaped profile and tapered tip are intended to aid both placement and removal. The tracheostomy tube includes a 15 mm connector for compatibility with standard connections.
Design Features
A flexible, anatomically shaped transparent flange helps the tube sit comfortably while allowing better visualization of the stoma site. The fenestrated version is identified by specific flange marking, and laser-marked flange information is intended to remain legible even with exposure to secretions or cleaning.
Size-based color coding appears on both the tube and packaging to support selection and identification. Markings are also provided to help identify the correct inner cannula match.
Materials
The tube materials are not made with DEHP. Brochure evidence also states that the product is not made with natural rubber latex.
