Description
The Withings Sleep Analyzer is a non-wearable under-mattress sleep sensor designed for overnight home monitoring. Its ultra-thin pad installs once beneath the mattress at chest or torso level, allowing sleep tracking without a wristband or bedside device. The sensor is intended for most mattress types and sleep positions, though it is not suitable for water mattresses. Because it uses a continuous 5V/1A USB power supply, it does not require recharging between nights.
Sleep and overnight monitoring
The device records key overnight metrics including sleep duration, sleep onset, wake time, interruptions, estimated sleep stages such as light, deep, and REM, and an overall Sleep Score. It also tracks overnight heart rate, respiratory rate, snoring, and body movement. This provides a broader view of sleep patterns while remaining unobtrusive during use.
Sleep apnea detection support
Product documentation describes a CE-marked Sleep Apnea Detector that classifies severity using AHI-based assessment. It was developed with sleep physicians and validated against polysomnography. Published comparison data reports 88.0% sensitivity and 88.6% specificity at an AHI threshold of 15 events per hour, and 86.0% sensitivity with 91.2% specificity at 30 events per hour. This feature is positioned for adult home use and is not a substitute for physician diagnosis or critical-care monitoring.
Sensors, setup, and compatibility
The Sleep Analyzer uses pneumatic pressure sensing, ballistocardiography-derived cardiac monitoring, movement detection, and an integrated microphone for snoring and breathing-interruption events. Setup requires the Withings app and a Withings account on a smartphone or tablet. Initial pairing uses Bluetooth, and data syncs automatically over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Common integrations include Apple Health and IFTTT, and sleep reports can be exported as PDFs.
Physical details and limitations
The pad measures 637 x 190 x 5 mm and weighs 350 g. Its textile cover is removable and machine washable. While it offers convenient home sleep insights and apnea screening support, it is not a full polysomnography system and does not measure blood oxygen or body position.
